Yarralin Community Master Plan

In 2020, Walangeri Ngumpinku identified the need for a new community store to be built in Yarralin. There were also a number of other projects proposed for community including a new clinic, an evacuation centre, water park, BMX pump track, and other sports and recreation facilities, as well as discussion around future housing growth.

With no more serviced land available (that is, defined plots of land with power, water, and sewerage connections) the big question became: As community grows, where do all these facilities go? What kind of demand does that put on existing infrastructure? And how can we grow community in a smart way that benefits community – and not in an ad-hoc or haphazard manner.

That’s why, as part of our funding for the new store, we sought funding for the development of a Master Plan. Developed with The Fulcrum Agency, the Master Plan is intended to outline the future growth of Yarralin for the next 30+ years.

Work started in 2024 and was completed May 2025 and identified a number of constraints to future town growth (identified in the image above) as well as suitable options for future housing and the location and growth of key facilities, including the new store.

You can download the plan from this page below, the results of community consultations which occurred over the last year. Endorsed by community and the Board of Walangeri Ngumpinku, we look forward to watching our community grow.
